LA HITMEN - SoCal’s Premiere Pump Paintball Team

April 3-5 USPL HB 2009  1st Place Open Class 5 man Pump Division
Whenever there is a paintball event held at HB you want to go. This year it was close to the pier. We had to make it. We wern’t to sure about playing D1 though and probably wouldn’t have played if they didn’t offer a pump division. We entered with the full intention of winning it. If you missed the event it was a great time with some problems here and there. Smaller than when the NPPL put it on in the past years but still cool. The VIP area was also lots of fun and had a great view. Many girls in minimal clothes helped out as well. Heavy D Trading had some limited edition Hitmen pump guns and Full Clip headbands. Guerrilla Air had dope air-systems across the US Army booth. They also had the new GA / LA Hitmen 13ci tanks. KM had LA Hitmen straps and Bob Long had a sneak peak of his new machine gun. It is really cool. I love how the bolt comes out the back.

Here is some of the things that could have gone better. Someone forgot to order the armbands so they decided that there was going to be no armbands! (not sure if that is what happened, but that is a better excuse than acting like its a new idea to try out) That created some bad situations on the field. But in their defense they said they would figure it out. I think ordering some next time will help. There is nothing wrong with moving forward and learning from mistakes. Its all good but I know for the Hawaii Exodus guys I coach they will not be coming back to one of these events. Some really bad reff calls and other issues like allowing ex-pros to play in D2 didn’t help. D2 people! No pros in D2.. Come on you have got to be kidding. D2 is part of your bread and butter you are going to allow that? 10% of the division won’t be back guaranteed. We had two D2 teams in it so that is a declarative statement.
What sucked the most was during the awards ceremony on Sunday evening pump games were still going on. They even had the pump games continue during the national anthem. But earlier in the day the pump games were stopped for lunch. I believe that if the USPL held the pump division with no finals that would have been best. Then the pump div can join everyone else in the awards ceremony.

I did my part to help out by helping snag a flag station to use when they were going to try to use a chair for a flag station. Couldn’t let that happen! I hope to see more events in HB. Thank you USPL for putting on the event in HB.
